Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Avturas website and application (together, the "Service"), operated by Avturas, a Turkish sole proprietorship (şahıs şirketi) based in Kadıköy, Istanbul, Türkiye ("Avturas," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Questions about these Terms can be sent to info@avturas.com.

1. Eligibility

The Service is intended for professional use by diplomats, IR researchers, policy advisors, and similar professionals. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

2. Your account

You sign in to Avturas using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your Avturas account. Notify us immediately at info@avturas.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Subscription, trial, and billing

• The Individual plan is billed at €10/month, self-serve, with full access to the Service.
• New accounts are eligible for a single 14-day free trial, granted once per account. No credit card is required to start a trial.
• Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Polar.sh, and automatically renew until cancelled.
• You can cancel your subscription or trial at any time from Settings; cancellation takes effect immediately and access ends at that time, unless otherwise stated at checkout.
• Institutional plans (multi-seat, invoiced) are governed by a separate agreement entered into directly with Avturas.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, resell, or redistribute content from the Service in bulk without our written permission.
• Share your account credentials or grant access to the Service to unauthorized third parties.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying infrastructure.

5. Content

Your content. You retain ownership of the notes, research projects, and other content you create within the Service ("User Content"). You grant Avturas a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the Service to you.

Curated content. The Service includes news items, articles, books, institutions, events, and documents curated or aggregated from third-party sources. This content is provided for informational purposes only, may be subject to the rights of third parties, and does not constitute professional, legal, or diplomatic advice. Avturas does not claim ownership of third-party content and links to original sources where applicable.

Our platform. The Avturas name, logo, and the compilation, organization, and presentation of content within the Service are owned by Avturas and protected by intellectual property laws.

6. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where reasonably practicable.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that curated content is complete, accurate, or up to date. Content on the Service is for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional, legal, or diplomatic judgment.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Avturas shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Service or by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
