This Privacy Policy explains how Avturas ("Avturas," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use the Avturas website and application (together, the "Service"). Avturas is operated as a Turkish sole proprietorship (şahıs şirketi) based in Kadıköy, Istanbul, Türkiye. 1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We do not offer email/password accounts.
• Profile and preferences. Information you provide during onboarding or in Settings — your professional role(s), organization, and selected interest areas — used to personalize the Service.
• Content you create. Research project notes, saved articles, read/bookmark state, and any other content you enter while using the Service.
• Subscription and billing information. Your subscription status (trial, active, cancelled) and plan. Payment is processed by our payment provider, Polar.sh — we do not receive or store your full card details.
• Usage data. We do not currently use analytics or usage-tracking tools. If that changes, we will update this policy — see our Cookie Policy.

2. How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and personalize the Service, including filtering content by your selected interest areas.
• To process your subscription, trial, and payments.
• To communicate with you about your account, changes to the Service, or support requests.
• To monitor, analyze, and improve the Service.
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal basis for processing (EEA/UK users)

Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process your data on the following bases: performance of a contract (providing the Service you signed up for), our legitimate interests (improving and securing the Service), and, where required, your consent.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with the following service providers ("sub-processors") solely to operate the Service:

• Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, hosting, and serverless functions.
• Polar.sh — subscription billing and payment processing.

We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Avturas, our users, or others.

5. Cookies

We use only essential cookies and local storage — to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie notice preference. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your account and content remain accessible under our standard retention period unless you request deletion. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting info@avturas.com.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

8. International data transfers

Our infrastructure runs on Google Cloud / Firebase, which may process and store data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers of personal data.

9. Children's privacy

Avturas is a professional tool intended for diplomats, researchers, and other IR professionals, and is not directed at, or intended for use by, anyone under 18.

10. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Service or by email before the change takes effect.
